One of our carriers recently had to cancel a couple policies the other week due to the intended use of cross-country paragliding. We admit, we had to look it up to understand what they were deciding to exclude.
It appears cross-country paragliding is extremely long-distance paragliding (up to 60 miles!) using air currents and thermals to carry you/rise. There’s even classes now, and a book!
Thermal flying and XC (cross-country) paragliding includes added risk due to thermal collapse and lack of a pre-planned landing zone.

So while we currently cover paragliding (Under our Trawick plan), it appears cross-country paragliding is not. However, as always, if you are fanatical about XC gliding and want us to cover you, or it catches on with enough people, we’ll locate a policy to post on this sports enthusiast website!
